Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.
Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.
An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper.
Manuscript Preparation and Formatting
PCCM Reports welcomes original research, case reports, review articles, and other scholarly contributions relevant to pulmonary and critical care medicine.
Authors should prepare manuscripts as editable Microsoft Word documents (.docx). Manuscripts should be submitted in a single-column format with clearly identified sections. Authors are not required to apply the journal's final publication layout, including two-column formatting, running headers, page numbers, or the PCCM Reports masthead. Accepted manuscripts will undergo editorial formatting for publication in PDF and HTML.
Title Page
The manuscript should begin with the following information, in order:
Full article title
Author names, degrees, and institutional affiliations
Corresponding author name and contact information
Abstract and Keywords
Include an abstract appropriate to the article type, followed by three to six keywords.
Original research articles should use a structured abstract with the headings Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
Case reports and review articles may use an unstructured abstract unless otherwise requested by the editors.

Review articles should include an Introduction, clearly labeled topic-specific sections, a Conclusion, and References.
Additional subsections may be included where appropriate. Authors should use clear, descriptive headings rather than relying solely on bold formatting or changes in font size.
Tables and Figures
Tables should be created as editable Microsoft Word tables rather than screenshots or images. Each table should have a numbered caption immediately above it, for example:

Figures should be provided as high-quality image files and identified with numbered captions, for example:
Figures may also be embedded in the manuscript to indicate their intended placement. Authors should ensure that all tables and figures are cited in the manuscript text.
References
References should be numbered consecutively in the order in which they first appear in the manuscript. In-text citations should correspond to the numbered reference list.
References should be placed under a clearly labeled References heading, with each reference entered separately.
Authors may use reference-management software such as EndNote but should ensure that citations and the bibliography are correctly formatted before submission.
Additional Information
Include statements regarding conflicts of interest, funding sources, ethical approval, patient consent, and prior presentation where applicable.

This section publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed clinical, translational, or laboratory investigations that contribute new scientific knowledge to the medical field. Submissions must follow a structured format including an Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion (IMRAD). All randomized trials, observational studies, and meta-analyses should be submitted to this section.
Case Reports
This section features educational and educational-value reports of rare, unusual, or unexpected clinical presentations, novel diagnostic approaches, or innovative treatment outcomes. Submissions should be concise and include an Abstract, Introduction, Case Presentation, and Discussion, emphasizing unique clinical lessons learned that can guide future practice.
Quality Improvement
This section is dedicated to initiatives, interventions, and studies aimed at improving patient safety, clinical workflows, healthcare delivery, or institutional care standards. Submissions should clearly outline the problem, the specific QI methodology used (e.g., PDSA cycles), measurable outcomes, data-driven results, and implications for system-wide practice changes.
Review
This section publishes comprehensive, narrative, or scoping overviews of current medical literature, clinical guidelines, or evolving therapeutic strategies. Reviews should synthesize existing data, highlight recent advancements or clinical controversies, and provide clinicians with an objective, evidence-based summary of a specific topic.
